ANSU seeks relief for cyclone-
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: A team of All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) visited the cyclone-
ANSU in a release informed that strong wind on April 20 blew away roofs of 96 dwelling houses besides damaging properties of the villagers. The students union also demanded the authority to provide relief to the cyclone affected villagers of Gangte circle of Kurung Kumey district.

DASU demands arrest of culprits
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Dibang Adi Students Union (DASU) has lodged a complaint of assault and attempt to murder against some miscreants with Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner today.
According to the complaint letter, DASU said, a group of miscreant led by one Toni Meto attacked Tembang Gamno, Samuel Lego and Kangge Gamno with lethal weapons inflicting grievous injury to them without any provocation at district hospital, Roing at 3.30 am when they were looking after a maternity patient.
DASU urged the DC to look into the matter seriously and bring all the culprits to book immediately and punish them as per law.

Six houses gutted
AALO, Apr 23: At least six OBT houses were completely gutted and huge properties are reported to be lost in a devastating fire that broke out around 6 pm at PI colony here on April 22 night.
The fire that continued for three hours was put off with the help of Army, BRTF personnel and civilians.
The army personnel from 19 Grenadier Bogdo rushed to the spot and carried the fire fighting equipments including water buckets manually to the fire accident site as the place was not accessible for the fire tender. Moreover, the fire which engulfed the thick jungles and bamboo grooves located at the accident site hindered rescue operation.
Meanwhile, the district administration has worked the immediate relief of Rs. 4000 to each family of fire victims. The Indian army is also distributing food and other essential items to the victims. DIPRO

ITANAGAR Apr 23: In a bid to protect wildlife and natural resources, Jote Panchayat Youth Welfare Association (JPYWA) has resolved to ban hunting, fishing and collecting forest resources like timber from its locality area. Violator would be penalized as per association resolution, a JPYWA release said.

MHA directs Assam Govt. to stop encroachment at Tarasso
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: While taking serious note of encroachment activities being carried out by Assam authority at Tarasso inside Arunachal territory, the union ministry of home affairs yesterday wrote to the Chief Secretary of Assam to immediately stop construction work and called for maintaining status quo. Ajay Kanoujia, director, North East, ministry of home affairs in his letter wrote, “It is requested to kindly sort out the issue in consultation with the govt. of Arunachal Pradeesh. A report in the matter may be kindly sent to home ministry at the earliest.”
Earlier principal secretary, home, govt. of Arunachal Pradesh had written to union home ministry informing them about illegal activities carried out inside Arunachal territory at Tarasso by Assam authorities and urging for direction to stop the work. The letter drew the attention of the ministry on the reported sanction of an amount of Rs 19 lakh by the Assam government for erection of forest protection camps in the area.
The letter also appealed for a team of MHA be sent to the Tarasso area to ascertain the ground realities. The boundary clash at Tarasso had claimed 12 lives in the month of January. Despite the volatile situation, Assam authorities few days back started work to construct forest camp inside Arunachal territory which has further worsened the situation.
Tourism Dept signs MoU with Indian Railways
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: In order to boost tourism sector in Arunachal Pradesh, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Department of Tourism, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTCL)
The MoU was signed by Dr. Joram Beda, Secretary Tourism and John Lepcha, regional manager, IRCTC Ltd today in the Directorate of Tourism office in a modest ceremony. Taru Talo Director Tourism, Tage Buda, Deputy Director Tourism and other senior officers of IRCTCL were present during signing of the MoU.
After signing of the MoU, the team of officials visited the newly constructed and now operational railway station at Yupia to explore the feasibility of opening tourism facilitating centre in the railway station premises.
IRCTC has decided to tie up with the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh to provide value added Tour Packages Services and booking facilities in an Arunachal Pradesh.

Fire devours 32 houses at Wakka
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: A devastating fire gutted 32 dwelling houses and six ware houses at Wakka village in Longding Monday.
Fortunately, there was no report of any loss of life. Most of the villagers were out working in the field when the fire broke out at around 11 am, informed Wakka ZPM Matpho Kolong.
An electric short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire but the actual cause and the total loss suffered due to the incident were yet to be ascertained.
The fire was brought to control after more than four hours of joint efforts by public, Assam Rifles and fire brigade from Khonsa, which reached the spot at 3 pm.
The fire also caused partial damage to many houses and killed several domestic animals.
Meanwhile, the District Administration has swung into the action and distributed immediate relief to the victims.
The Chief of Wakka has directed the villagers to contribute for quick rehabilitation of the victims while the chief of Nginu village have asked the villagers of Nginu and Ngissa contribute materials required for reconstruction of house of the victims.
Meanwhile, Wakka ZPM along with Panchayat leaders have visited the victims and distributed immediate relief.
A team of Longding Students' Union headed by President Manlem Wangsu also met the victims. While distributing some relief items to them, he appealed to all to contribute generously for the victims.
The Chandan Women Welfare Society of Wakka appealed to all public, officials, youths, NGOs, well wishers to help and contribute for the affected people in this hour of need.
Governor visits Poma Bamboo Processing Centre

Poll official’s mysterious death gets no headway

PASIGHAT, Apr 23: More than two weeks have passed but police are yet to make any headway in the death case of polling official Mathew Dabi.

"Police during inquest found no major external or stab injury on the deceased's body. The actual cause of death can be ascertained only after the biopsy and forensic laboratory report are received. We have sent 11 viscera samples for forensic examination which will take at least three months," said the SP.
According to police, Dabi was attending polling duty under alcoholic intoxication and he had an altercation with the presiding officers and polling agents before leaving the polling booth. Police had received a missing complaint from his family on the next day and started search operation in the area.
But, the deceased's family, in now way, is ready to believe the police statement. They claim it is an intentional murder influenced by political conspiracy.
Referring to some circumstantial evidences and reports from the local villagers at Boleng, the family men claimed that miscreants might have kidnapped and took him away to fulfill their ill intention.
Meanwhile, the people of Nari including the members of Galo Student Union, Ramle Banggo Welfare Society, Ramle Banggo Adi Peoples Forum have demanded the district administration to institute a high level inquiry into the mysterious death case. They further demanded the authority to grant compensation as per legitimate rule and to assure job for the deceased's wife.

YINGKIONG Apr 23: The Deputy Commissioner of Upper Siang District Dr. Tariq Thomas and Tage Habung SP held interactive session with the Yingkiong Bazaar Committee members, Executive Members of All Upper Siang District Women Welfare Society yesterday at Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner.
The purpose of the meeting was on cleanliness drive of the Yingkiong township in general and Upper /Lower/Meat Market in particular. The second point was concerning law and order and security of the shopkeepers in particular.
The Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police informed the members that miscreants and buglers have frequently looted goods from different shops on different occasions in midnight hours and shopkeepers have been facing constant pressure from students unions and organizations demanding unauthorized donations.

APST inspiring other govt. departments
Most of the revenue earning departments of Arunachal has been repeatedly failing
to generate enough money, forcing state government to totally depend on central fund
to carry out developmental activities. Departments like tourism, horticulture, environment
and forest, tax & excise which is all considered to be potential revenue generation
organs of state has not been able to achieve the desired target. In the midst of

Now a day we the general public of twin capital always see smoke in sky instead of clean clouds. Due to devastating forest fire around the surrounding of capital, those who resides near forest also live in fear that any time this devastating fire can swallow their resident and make them homeless. Forest fire is also deeply affecting wild animal. Everyday lots of flora and fauna are getting damaged. We on behalf of entire youth of twin capital request entire people of capital to stop deforestation and keep our capital green.
